Before You Decide You Should Have Done More
Glow Notes™ Edition: Feel Good Friday
You do not have to prove the week mattered
There is a particular kind of pressure that can arrive at the end of a week.
The feeling that you should have done more.
Fixed more.
Figured more out.
Made more progress.
And when something is still bothering you—your lips, your routine, your energy, or simply the feeling that something remains unfinished—it can be easy to interpret “I’m still noticing this” as evidence that you did not do enough.
But that is not the only way to measure progress.
Sometimes progress is quieter.
Sometimes it looks like noticing before reacting.
Sometimes it looks like catching yourself before turning one uncomfortable moment into another thing you have to solve.
Sometimes it looks like allowing something to stay unchanged long enough for you to actually observe it.
That counts, too.
Awareness is part of care
We tend to give action more credit than awareness.
Changing something feels productive.
Searching feels productive.
Adding another step feels productive.
But observation has value, too.
Especially when your usual pattern has been:
Feel something.
Correct something.
Reassess.
Start over.
A calmer response does not mean you stopped caring.
It may simply mean you created enough space to understand what you were responding to before making another decision.
That is part of what Ritual Over Rush™ means here at AJ’s EO Infusions®.
Not neglect.
Not avoidance.
Not pretending discomfort is not there.
Just enough room to let information arrive before pressure takes over.
What did this week show you?
Before you move fully into the weekend, give yourself one quiet minute.
No new checklist.
No new routine.
No fixing.
Ask yourself:
What did I notice this week that I might have missed before?
Maybe you noticed how quickly frustration turns into action.
Maybe you noticed how often uncertainty makes you want to change something.
Maybe you caught the thought, “I must be doing something wrong.”
Maybe you realized how much energy goes into trying to make every uncomfortable feeling disappear immediately.
Or maybe you simply noticed that you are tired of treating every sensation like another assignment.
You do not have to turn the answer into a plan today.
You can simply let the observation be useful.
Changing less does not mean caring less
There will be moments when something genuinely needs to change.
There will be times when your body deserves closer attention or appropriate professional support.
Slow Wellness is not about refusing to respond.
It is about remembering that every sensation does not have to become an immediate correction.
Sometimes the most useful response is allowing one observation to remain an observation for a little while.
No judgment.
No rushing to make it mean something bigger.
Just information.
We regulate first, then we respond with intention.
Let this be enough for today
You do not need to end the week with everything resolved.
You do not need another assignment before you are allowed to rest.
And you do not need to discount what you learned simply because the learning was quiet.
Noticing counts as care.
Pausing counts as care.
Choosing not to automatically add another correction can count as care, too.
If this Glow Note made you think of someone who has been carrying the pressure to do more, send it to her.
And if three women came to mind, forward it to all three.
Glow Notes™ grows one thoughtful share at a time—and sometimes one quiet reminder reaches another woman exactly when she needs it.
For today, let that be enough.
Remember, here at AJ’s EO Infusions®, we choose Ritual Over Rush™ because we regulate first, and we believe consistency creates confidence.
Until next time, let’s glow, grow, and thrive together. 💜💛💚
